Crèche (pre-school)
During Sunday 9.30 Eucharist service we offer a crèche for children under school age so that parents, who may find it difficult to get a moment to reflect during the week, can enjoy the tranquility of the service. It is staffed by parents who operate on a rota and have been DBS checked.
Junior Church (school years 1-5)
This fun activity-based group is open to children in school years 1-5 during Sunday 9.30 Eucharist service. It provides a child-friendly introduction to the church whilst affording busy parents some peace in the more adult service, which the children join towards the end. It is held in the Church Hall every Sunday in term time, except for the first Sunday of the month when we hold the slightly shorter family service. Helpers have been DBS checked.
Junior Choir
Joining the St. Mary’s Choristers is a great way for young people to get involved in worship here. They meet on Wednesday 6.00-7.00pm and Sunday 10.45-11.30am to practice, and sing in some of our family services and at various special services throughout the year.
We follow the RSCM (royal School of Church Music) Voice for Life award scheme so you can earn medals and take examinations as you learn singing technique with us.
If you are in Year 2 upwards and enjoy singing, why not come along and try it out? While learning a wide range of modern and traditional worship songs, you will meet and get to know plenty of other young people who go to St Mary’s and, most important of all, you’ll have a lot of fun.
To find out more about it please contact the parish office by phone or via email on parishoffice@stmaryscaterham.org.
Summer Holiday Club
To help working families we offer a week’s summer holiday club to offer affordable childcare and give parents a break from cries of ‘I’m bored’! For children 5-11 years. £7 per day (Siblings £5). All helpers have been DBS checked.
The 2019 club ran 29th July – 2nd August, and offered a packed programme of games and activities in a friendly environment.
