Volunteering is a satisfying way to make a difference and make friends in your church community. There are several ways you can get involved and you will often hear appeals for people’s time and talents in the notices at the end of services. Here are four ways in which we are always in need of volunteers.
Lifts to church
Several of our parishioners are unable to get to our services because of mobility issues or a lack of public transport on Sunday. If you are able to offer someone a lift to Church, even if only occasionally, please contact the parish office by phone or email.
Churchyard Conservation
If you are a keen gardener or simply like lending a hand and being outside, you may like to join our Churchyard Conservation Group. We meet on alternate Saturday mornings to help preserve our beautiful grounds. If you would like to get involved please call Denise Clarke on 01883 342920 or email churchyardconservation@stmaryscaterham.org.
Flowers
Flowers make an enormous difference to how welcoming the church feels and our talented team provide beautiful arrangements. If you can provide flowers or foliage, or would like to join the flower rota, please contact Debbie Samuels on 01883 345293 or email flowers@stmaryscaterham.com.
Cleaning & maintenance
Our beautiful buildings are used by hundreds of people each week and need care and attention, cleaning and maintenance. If you are able to help us in this respect, please contact the parish office by phone or email.
