A Church of the Caterham Team Ministry: Caterham Deanery - Diocese of Southwark - Church of England
Annual Report – Junior Church

(Report for 2021-22.  No report received for 2022-23)

We have had another really successful year at Junior Church! We have been so lucky this academic year that our sessions have not been disrupted by another lockdown. We have looked at so many topics within the sessions and the children are more confident in reading out loud to the congregation. They are so enthusiastic about Junior Church and the atmosphere is engaged and purposeful. We have a register of around 30 children and a core group of 10-15 who come weekly. This is on top of a dedicated team of leaders which stands at 10.  I would like to thank all of them for their help, it is hugely appreciated and we really could not do it without you.

The children have also taken part in singing with the Junior Choir, Acolyting, reading the Prayers and readings on the first Sundays of the month. They really feel part of the congregation and we are so pleased that they do!

We have a toddler group running at the same time and we have invested in new resources for them – kinetic sand, play-doh, which they love. The tuff tray is regularly used and we are thankful for all our donations of toys and books.

A huge thank you to Anne and Debbie who helped with “Operation Cupboard Tidy” which has massively helped us in our role!

Lastly, a thank you to all the congregation members for their support towards Junior Church, we love it when people tell us how much they enjoyed the feedback from our sessions and we are thankful to be able to lead Junior Church in such a wonderful church.
