During 2022 we continued to provide music for the 9.30 Service at St Mary’s on the third Sunday of every month, using our new Parish Eucharist in the Celtic tradition. From the comments I have received, this has continued to be very much welcomed by the congregation. We are continuing to expand our repertoire and explore new areas of music, especially our communion anthem, which has included music with Celtic and folk roots from the Northumbria Community, and prayer chants by contemporary composers including Margaret Rizza, Keith Duke and Geoffrey Nobes.
On the second Sunday of each month at 6pm Free Spirit continue to lead and provide music for Time and Space, a reflective service held in St Lawrence’s. We have a regular congregation which is growing in numbers but there is always room for more, please give it a try if you haven’t been before.
We are always open to members of the congregation with musical gifts – if you feel you could offer something and are open to worship in the ‘Free Spirit’ way – it would be good to have a conversation with you.
